The Kia Love Project is designed to educate local women — especially at-risk and low-income women — about developing “urban homesteading” skills such as gardening, composting, sewing and knitting.We offer a series of workshops to participants, as well as classes on translating their newly honed talents into business opportunities. Ultimately, students in the Kia Love Project will a) learn practical skills that will teach them to be more self-reliant; b) learn how to develop a business plan, sell their products, apply for small business funding, and market their businesses; and c) become ambassadors for sustainability among their friends and neighbors.
